Prior to moving back to Knoxville in the spring of 2001 and starting his own real estate company, Leigh A. Burch III was a well-known real estate professional in the Atlanta area for over twenty years. He has worked with the Portman Companies, GLG Tower Inc., Trillium Management Inc., Jamison Research, and Vantage Property Associates.
In September 1995, Mr. Burch was appointed as president of the Real Estate Resource Center in Atlanta, GA. Prior to founding Terminus Real Estate in 1996, Leigh served as a commercial broker for Vantage Property Associates and was the vice president of leasing and property management at Trillium Management, Inc. At Trillium, Leigh was responsible for the leasing and management of 34 commercial and residential properties and over 200 commercial tenants. Before joining Trillium Management, Mr. Burch was vice president of commercial properties for GLG Tower, Inc. in Atlanta. This Swedish real estate group developed the posh, 53-story GLG Grand Tower in Midtown.
Leigh Burch III has also been one of the most recognized real estate analysts within the southeastern region. As head of Jamison Research’s real estate consulting division, he advised over forty of the largest pension funds, commercial banks, life insurance companies, real estate developers and brokerage firms within the United States. His consulting included: market analysis and feasibility, determination of “highest and best use”, financing packages, and leasing and marketing consultation. Since the late 1980s, Mr. Burch has been quoted extensively in The Wall Street Journal, The Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia Trend, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Knoxville News Sentinel, the National Real Estate Investor and many others. He has also been a guest speaker on numerous real estate panels and participated as a host of other real estate functions throughout the southeast.
He has taught Real Estate Market Analysis and Real Estate Finance at Georgia Tech and Georgia State Universities in Atlanta, GA. His teaching experience also includes: Micro and Macro Economics at the University of Tennessee, Finance and Economics at Brenau College in Atlanta and Economics at Dekalb College.
Today, he focuses on real estate development, leasing, sales and property management at his company Terminus Real Estate, Inc. Mr. Burch has developed many, high-profile real estate projects like the 100-unit Sterchi Lofts in Knoxville, TN; the Commerce Building in Knoxville, TN; The 15-unit, Lerner Lofts in Knoxville, the 30-unit Verandas in South Knoxville, office lofts at 997 Brady Avenue in Atlanta, GA; and several other projects in the Atlanta and Knoxville areas. He is also a partner in Southbound Bar and Grille in Knoxville, TN.
Leigh was born in Knoxville, TN and has a Master’s Degree in Finance and Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Tennessee.
